Every year, the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry hosts a Research Day where students, faculty and staff are commemorated for their incredible research in dentistry, dental hygiene, physical therapy, occupational therapy, biokinesiology, and occupational science. This event includes keynote speakers and a poster session that is followed by awards presented to the best posters in several categories. USC Stevens participates each year as judges and offers cash prizes ($250) for two awards. This year’s Ostrow Research Day took place on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the USC Galen Center. The USC Stevens judges who attended were our Technology Licensing Manager Bonnie Phan Wolfe and our Licensing Associates Benjamin Wild and Larry Cabral.

The other two speakers who also gave opening remarks for the event were Dr. Yang Chai, Associate Dean of Research at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, and Dr. Avishai Sadan, Dean of the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. Following the opening remarks, USC Herman Ostrow students were given the chance to display their presentations for judges and event attendees to view and interact with. Once presentations concluded, a poster viewing was held before the awards ceremony. USC Stevens Interim Executive Director, Steven Moldin, was also in attendance and presented the awards during the awards ceremony, and is pictured with the awardees in the main photo above (pictured to the right of the awardee).

The USC Stevens Center for Innovation is proud to be a participating member and judge in the annual “Dental Day” event, hosted by the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, and looks forward to next year’s Annual Research Day.
