Donaldson Santos has been promoted to the position of Director of Licensing and New Ventures for the USC Stevens Center for Innovation. He will begin his new role on August 1, 2021.
Santos joined the Stevens Center in December 2017 as Associate Director of Licensing for the life sciences. He has nearly 20 years of experience in academic and industry technology transfer.
“I look forward to the leadership that Donaldson will bring to our technology licensing and startup efforts,” said Jennifer Dyer, executive director of the Stevens Center. “This is an important role for our interactions with USC researchers and the business community.”
Santos’ previous experience includes The Scripps Research Institute where he served as the Associate Director, Licensing and was responsible for technology licensing, startup formation, and corporate sponsored research agreements. Prior to Scripps, Santos was a Licensing Associate at USC and a technical sales representative for Stratagene (acquired by Agilent Technologies).
Santos has a degree in biochemistry/chemistry from the University of California, San Diego and is a Certified Licensing Professional. He is an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers and the Licensing Executives Society.
