Tran Courtney
Tran is the Associate Director, Marketing and Communications, and leads the strategic planning of marketing initiatives and events for the USC Stevens Center.
Working closely with USC leadership, Tran develops custom marketing plans to promote the university’s research and IP portfolio, industry partnerships, licensing, and technology commercialization. She is also a mentor for the Techstars program and counsels early-stage founders with their marketing and community-building strategies. Prior to joining USC, she spent seven years at Harvard Business School (HBS) developing and managing their health care marketing initiatives, amplifying faculty research, leading content creation, promoting the Kraft Precision Medicine Accelerator and the Health Acceleration Challenge, and advising HBS alumni and Harvard-affiliated postdocs admitted into the Blavatnik Fellowship in Life Science Entrepreneurship program with their go-to-market branding strategy. In addition, Tran has held marketing and public relations roles at various organizations, including The Aspen Institute, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Shopzilla, and found her passion for storytelling when she worked at a television station.
Tran received her BA in English and Marketing from Old Dominion University.
