We are thrilled and honored to be the host university for the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) Annual Conference in 2026!
Our Executive Director, Dr. Erin Overstreet, was on stage at the 2025 NAI Annual Conference in Atlanta on June 26th to make the formal announcement at the Celebration Gala in front of hundreds of attendees. A Hollywood-style announcement video, narrated by Dr. Ishwar Puri, Senior Vice President of Research and Innovation, premiered that evening to much excitement about NAI’s return to California after 10 years. Dr. Overstreet also presented Dr. Paul Sandberg, NAI President, with an Oscar-sized “Tommy” statue and promised to put on a memorable show in Los Angeles. We’re excited to roll out the red carpet and give inventors the star treatment at a welcome reception at Town & Gown on June 1, 2026. Inventors are bright stars and have illuminated the world with their groundbreaking innovations, and we plan to spotlight their star power and impact on society.
The theme for the NAI’s 15th Annual Conference is “Spotlight on Our Stars,” which will highlight inventors’ star power in society. The main conference will take place at the Loews Hollywood Hotel, which is adjacent to the Dolby Theatre and home of the Academy Awards annually.
