USC startups featured at upcoming venture showcase
USC Stevens will be participating as one of the sponsors at the next Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) First Look LA event. This event is a unique invitation-only sneak peek at some of the most promising research and emerging start-up opportunities from the LA Region’s premier research institutions.
First Look LA will feature four healthcare startup companies with origins at USC. The USC startup companies attending will be: CaliVive, which offers targeted nutrient delivery to the gastrointestinal tract to treat chronic diseases; Moving Analytics, which Delivers home-based cardiac rehabilitation through patients’ mobile devices; WhiteCoat, which offers in-home urgent and primary care for less than the cost of an urgent care or emergency room visit; and ValiNano, which is developing programmable drug delivery systems to treat disease.
In addition to USC, there are startups from the following universities and research institutions: Caltech, University of Hawai’i, LA Biomed, Cedars Sinai, UCLA, UCSB, UCI, ASU, and Children’s Hospital LA.
The event takes place Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at UCLA’s California NanoSystems Institute in Westwood and features companies with roots at universities and research organizations.
