Charlie Pruitt, J.D. is Contracts Manager, Intellectual Property at the USC Stevens Center for Innovation. Pruitt brings a legal and policy background to his role, where he collaborates internally with faculty and staff and externally with senior industry personnel to negotiate and draft complex clauses and agreements involving exceptional intellectual property terms.
Prior to serving as Contracts Manager, Intellectual Property, Pruitt served for four years as Agreements Administrator at the Stevens Center where he managed, organized, and implemented all contract administration and agreement compliance activities. Before joining the Stevens Center, he worked for the University of Dayton in the Office of Legal Affairs, where he coordinated a policy compliance review across all university departments while building the college’s digital policy repository. He also supported the legal team with issues involving labor and employment, Title IX, immigration and intellectual property. Pruitt previously served as Assistant Director of Ohio State Aquatics, coordinating high-profile athletic events.
Pruitt earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Ohio State University and a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. While in law school, he was a member of the inaugural Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic, which provided legal guidance to inventors and entrepreneurs in the greater Dayton, Ohio community.
He is a licensed attorney in both California and Ohio.
