USC Leventhal School of Accounting is a recognized leader in accounting education. USC School of Architecture entered a new phase as a new century began under the guidance of Dean Robert H. Timme, FAIA, who took leadership in th fall of 1995. The School is poised to capitalize on its unparalleled legacy of enlightened direction, originality, and commitment to the fundamental issues of design and professional excellence in a rapidly changing world. The School has developed an architectural complex north of campus for community design activities and for the Architectural Guild. The USC School of Architecture is committed to studying and supporting the city of Los Angeles, a city recognized as the future capital of the Pacific Rim , both the gateway to and the mirror of a dynamic nation.

   

USC Marshall School of Business is a private research and academic institution committed to educating tomorrow's global leaders. USC School of Cinematic Arts invites students to explore and expand the power and potential of film, television and new media. Throughout the 20th century and now in the 21st, the School of Cinematic Arts has nurtured and inspired the writers, directors, scholars, entrepreneurs, producers, animators, interactive designers and others who have developed an unparalleled mastery in cinema, television and new media. At the heart of their success is the knowledge and experience gained from the school’s unique and time-tested philosophy of forging a nexus where cinematic theory and practice meld with one another.


 
 

USC Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California was founded in 1971 with generous support from Ambassador Walter H. Annenberg. Its strategic location in Los Angeles at USC enables it to foster dynamic synergies and multidisciplinary approaches to the study of communication and journalism through unparalleled access to the nation's and the world's entertainment, media and technology industries.

   

USC School of Dentistry has educated close to 14,000 health professionals in the art and science of dentistry, including leaders in dental education, research and the dental profession.  Today, USC Dentistry prepares oral health professionals in its doctoral dental, dental hygiene, general practice residency and eight advanced specialty education programs.  Students can pursue graduate degrees in craniofacial molecular biology and earn other advanced degrees in conjunction with their advanced specialty education.

The USC Viterbi School of Engineering provides unique undergraduate and graduate programs to qualified students leading to academic degrees in engineering; extends the frontiers of engineering knowledge; stimulates and encourages in its students qualities of scholarship, leadership, and character; serves the city, the state, the nation and the world by providing for the continuing education of engineers; and to provide professional engineering leadership in the solution of community, regional, national and global problems.

USC Roski School of Fine Arts our first priority is the education and cultivation of our students through the study of visual art. We provide a challenging context for students to research, produce, and critically evaluate their creative work within a cultural and historical framework. The School recognizes that the marriage of concept and form that has preoccupied artists for centuries has become critical to all human endeavors today.
USC Davis School of Gerontology, the nation's leader in the field of gerontology, has consistently pioneered innovative educational programs including the world's first Ph.D. in Gerontology, the first joint Master's degree in Gerontology and Business Administration, and the first undergraduate Health Science Track in Gerontology. Founded in 1975, the DavisSchool is the nation’s first professional School of Gerontology. With its own faculty representing various disciplines, the School is able to offer students a wide range of scientific and professional Gerontology courses. Gerontology students at USC enjoy the resources of a world-class university and the personal attention found at a small school.
 

One of the most prominent law schools in the country, USC’s Gould School of Law offers a forward-looking, interdisciplinary legal education guided by nationally renowned professors and informed by the diversity of a friendly and collegial student body. Located in the nation's second largest city, one of the largest and most dynamic in the world, the school offers myriad opportunities to apply the law to real-world problems through partnerships with some of the world's leading companies and law firms. Through interdisciplinary academic training and practical application of skills, students acquire the experience necessary to succeed as leaders in a global environment.

 

 

Located in Los Angeles, the Keck School of Medicine of USC of the University of Southern California trains tomorrow’s leaders in patient care and biomedical research and provides advanced health care to the people of Southern California. Increasingly, the KeckSchool is expanding its biomedical research enterprise and, in so doing, raising its profile as a premier medical school. Research programs in genetics, cancer, neurogenetics, transplantation medicine, and other key areas—have attracted national recognition. The school’s dual commitments to collaborative interdisciplinary research and rapidly translating scientific findings from the lab bench to the patient’s bedside have proved pivotal in its continuing success in research.

 

 

Led by Dean Dr. Robert A. Cutietta, the USC Thornton School of Music brings together a stellar faculty chosen from a broad spectrum of the music profession and musically gifted students from around the globe. Founded in 1884, and today the oldest continually operating cultural institution in Los Angeles, the ThorntonSchool consistently ranks among the top one percent of the nation's music schools and conservatories. Graduates of the school attain positions with major orchestras, ensembles, recording studios and music industry firms and perform on stages and in studios around the world.

 

 

Founded in 1905, the USC School of Pharmacy is the first and foremost pharmacy school in Southern California. Approximately 50 percent of the pharmacists in the region are graduates of USC. Recognized as one of the most innovative schools of pharmacy in the nation, the USC School of Pharmacy has served as a model for other progressive pharmacy schools throughout the country. In the USC program, emphasis is given to the application of drug knowledge in patient care. The pharmacist becomes an active and integral member of the patient care team. Patient care experiences begin early and increase both in scope and complexity as the student progresses through the program. 

 

The mission of the USC School of Policy, Planning, and Development is to educate leaders and produce knowledge that improves problem solving on the most critical issues facing society. The ultimate goal is to contribute in a practical way to the betterment of communities here and abroad. Graduates of SPPD hold important positions in government at all levels, in the business world, and in the nonprofit sector. Many remain closely associated with the school and play important roles in its leadership, research agenda, curriculum development, networking for students and graduates, and resource development.

 

One of the nation’s first schools of social work, USC School of Social Work has always been a trailblazer. And this time in our history is no exception. Still one of the 10 best social work graduate programs in the nation, USC is heralded by agency, policy and academic leaders for its rigorous career preparation. We are also a campus exemplar for our research efforts, with funding exceeding $22 million. Our own research institute, Hamovitch Center for Science in the Human Services, is a leader in translational science —expediting research findings into practice settings.

 

 

Founded in 1945, the USC School of Theatre is recognized internationally as a leader in theatre education. Ranked among the top five undergraduate theatre programs in the nation, the School blends artistic training in a conservatory environment with all the academic advantages of a major research university.

 

The largest and oldest of the USC schools, USC College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences functions as the academic core of the university, offering courses and advancing knowledge across the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. The College offers undergraduates a choice of nearly 80 majors and more than 50 minors, and provides advisement to undecided and undeclared students. Through institutional partnerships and service-learning programs, the College has built strong alliances with the diverse communities of Southern California.
