About the Social Innovation Fast Pitch Competition An exciting event hosted by Los Angeles Social Venture Partners, Social Enterprise Institute and the USC Stevens Institute for Innovation taking place from 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm on October 29, 2008 at USC – The Social Innovation Fast Pitch and Showcase.
The Social Innovation Fast Pitch and Showcase will recognize and celebrate innovative nonprofits that are effecting social change in Greater Los Angeles and will serve as a catalyst to engage local business community support.
The formal program will including a keynote by Ethos Water founder and former Vice President for Starbucks Coffee, Jonathan Greenblat, an interactive discussion of social innovation, and live, three-minute ‘pitches’ from local nonprofits* selected for their innovative approaches for creating social change and their ability to powerfully communicate their vision. Participating nonprofits will compete for the chance to present their ideas to a panel of experts and to win up to $10,000 in funding.
The fast pitch program is a high energy, entertaining, and extremely valuable visibility-building event. Up to 12 social entrepreneurs will present a three-minute pitch to a panel of experts and an audience of investors, business and nonprofit leaders, and other members of Southern California's entrepreneurial community.
Following the formal program, there will be a mixer where attendees can interact and network with the presenting organizations to learn more about their mission, needs, and opportunities for support and engagement.
