organizations both at USC and in the investment community dedicated to

Academic Senate The
Academic Senate is the representative body of the entire faculty at
USC, consisting primarily of representatives elected by Faculty
Councils. As a voice for faculty working with the university
administration, it strives to further the academic mission and
integrity of the university as a community of scholars, artists and
professionals dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge.
Contracts and Grants The
Department of Contracts and Grants provides information about campus
resources, general guidelines for the preparation of proposals,
guidance through the internal proposal review and approval process,
review and signature of proposals on behalf of the institution, the
preparation and negotiation of contracts, acceptance of awards and
establishment of account numbers, miscellaneous post-award activities,
such as re-budgeting approvals and subcontract administration, and a
repository for proposal kits and guidelines for major agencies.
Marshall
Center for Technology
Commercialization The purpose of the Center for Technology Commercialization
is to identify, encourage, and support entrepreneurial activities among the
faculty, students, and staff of the University
of Southern California.
CTC assists inventors and companies with IP issues, business feasibility
analysis, business plan development, start-up financing, management team
acquisition, and related issues.
The USC Entrepreneur Club (e-Club) The USC Entrepreneur Club was resurrected
in the fall of 2002 by A.J. Nagaraj and Samira Asemanfar, both
undergraduate students at the Marshall School of Business. Envisioning
the organization as one that would transcend disciplinary borders that
traditionally prevented non-business students from experiencing
entrepreneurship, the founders garnered interest throughout campus.
That year, its most successful event, An Evening with David Bohnett,
was held in January of 2003 and featured the founder and former CEO of
Geocities.com.
Entrepreneur Mentorship Program The
EMP is a program created to connect MBA candidates, undergraduate
seniors, and undergraduate juniors interested in the world of
entrepreneurship with experienced entrepreneurs. Its mission is to
strengthen Trojan Family connections while providing the opportunity
for mentors to help young entrepreneurs succeed.
EVMA The
EVMA is a graduate student organization that provides MBA candidates
and others with opportunities to learn more about entrepreneurial
opportunities and careers across a variety of industries and fields.
The student-led group schedules numerous talks, roundtables, and other
events throughout the year – facilitating active discourse between
successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, business angels,
students, and other LA-area professionals in or associated with the
venture management community.
Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies The
Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies is among the nation’s
leaders in entrepreneurship education and research. Its faculty – a
diverse mix of academics and entrepreneur practitioners – together
offer undergraduate and graduate programs designed to help students
acquire the tools, develop the skills, and cultivate the mindset
central to organizing, launching, and managing successful new ventures.
The Greif Center has been labeled “one of the best entrepreneurship
programs” in the country by Business Week and has been ranked among the
best by U.S. News and World Report.
Office of Student Affairs The
Division of Student Affairs is devoted to creating an integrated learning
experience that helps students reach their educational, personal, and
professional aspirations.
Vice Provost for Research Advancement The
Office of Research Advancement is implementing USC’s strategic plan by
building inter-disciplinary research collaborations that address
societal needs and by increasing the impact and prominence of USC
research. The office invests in research initiatives, promotes research
among sponsors, and provides services that ensure that USC achieves the
highest ethical standards in its research. |
