2010 Ideas Empowered Program Archive

The Ideas Empowered Program was created to find, support and seed groundbreaking projects emerging from USC research that, with proper mentoring, programmatic support and seed funding, could “spin out” of the university within a year or two and make great impact in the marketplace. The Ideas Empowered Program helps to identify the most exciting and game-changing ideas at USC, reduce the development and investment risks around these promising early discoveries, and bring together the elements necessary to translate the discoveries to the market.

This program will serve to help advance the most promising USC innovations, integrate students into translational research projects, and further develop USC students and faculty as lifelong innovators. USC Stevens Center for Innovation has boosted USC’s stature as one of the most influential U.S. research universities. By tapping into the university’s wealth of creativity and intellectual capital, the USC Center brings to fruition those ideas that have the potential to impact society the most.
